Appellation The Bordeaux wine region comprises over 60 different appellations. Of these, the largest is AOC Bordeaux, whose wines can be made across the Gironde département. A vast area with many different terroirs, it is also the cradle of world-famous grapes such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
Wine making At Baron de Lestac, we have selected a few winegrowers that have made the shift to organic methods Apolline Robert, our parcel expert, works closely with our partners to identify best organic parcels that will be used in the elaboration of our organic wines After a short pre fermentation, pellicular maceration to extract tannins, colour and aromas, Baron de Lestac Bordeaux Rouge Organic is aged 6 months in dedicated oak barrels in our own wine cellar.
The Bordeaux appellation comprises more than 35,000 hectares of vineyards planted with red grape varieties. Its gravel soils encourage the grapes to ripen, while the clay-limestone soils bring a cooling humidity to the vines. The appellation area boasts a wide variety of exceptional terroirs, and thanks to diligent parcel selection by our team, Baron de Lestac red wine benefits from this richness.
Our organic red wine is a 100% Merlot. Its supple, round profile brings plenty of color and ripe fruit aromas such as cherry and blackberry, as well as spicy flavors. Growing predominantly on cool, damp soils, Merlot will be able to express its full potential.
The Baron de Lestac Bordeaux Rouge Organic pairs very well with all your favourite grilled meat dishes and classic BBQ food.
This wine is also great with charcuterie and cheese boards.
