Appellation Bordeaux AOC is the only appellation in Gironde that produces wines in three colours. Of course, the rosé wines are not a blend of the whites and reds but rather the result of the highly skilled winemaking that produces the well-known, prestigious red and white wines.
Wine making To make Baron de Lestac rosé we selected two Bordeaux varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The grapes are carefully harvested to preserve their freshness, then gently vinified to extract the most attractive aromas and a pale pink colour.
AOC Bordeaux comprises 3,600 hectares of vines used to make rosé. Spread across the Gironde, these vineyards thrive in an oceanic climate that brings freshness to the wines, with a diversity of terroirs perfectly suited to growing Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Baron de Lestac uses vineyard parcels selected from those of our grower-partners with whom we are committed to sustainable wine growing via the Terra Vitis certification.
Bottles of Baron de Lestac have been certified Terra Vitis since the 2019 vintage. The Bag-in-box format will be certified Terra Vitis from summer 2022.
The delicious, refreshing character of Baron de Lestac rosé comes firstly from its grapes, namely Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. On the nose it has red fruit, peach and exotic fruit aromas. On the palate there are strawberry and peach notes, with a delicate acidity on the finish.
Baron de Lestac rosé is perfect for an aperitif, particularly with charcuterie and fresh goat cheese. With a meal, it makes an excellent match with salads, white meat and grilled fish, as well as fruit-based desserts.
